R&B Club Functions

These were occasionally held upstairs at The Blue Lamp from 10pm to 1am and I had to obtain a special Late Licence from the town Magistrates.

The Blue Lamp was just around the corner from the Students Union and featured a Wurlitzer jukebox downstairs. Upstairs was a bar used for private functions only. There was a strict limit on the number of tickets we could sell, probably due to fire regulations, although we may have gone over the limit as the tickets normally sold out well in advance. You could not pay on the day, I think that was a local bye-law.
